Alice & George’s Post-Wedding Lunch: A Taste of Saint-Tropez in Somerset

When Alice and George envisioned their dream post-wedding celebration, they knew exactly what they wanted: a relaxed, sun-drenched feast inspired by their favourite place—Saint-Tropez. With this in mind, we set out to bring the essence of the French Riviera to the heart of South Somerset, recreating the effortless elegance of Club 55, a legendary beachside restaurant known for its simple yet exquisite French cuisine.

From the very beginning, we knew that colour and atmosphere would be key. The celebration was brought to life with a palette of bright blues and yellows. Working with Helen from Punch Events we were able to evoke the warmth and vibrancy of Southern France. To complement this, we designed a menu that embraced the rustic, fire-cooked flavours of the Mediterranean, with dishes that encouraged sharing and a convivial, relaxed dining experience.

At the heart of the feast was our signature fire pit, where whole chickens were slow-roasted over open flames. Stunning whole planked salmon were cooked over fire, its smoky richness pairing beautifully with an array of French-inspired salads bursting with fresh, seasonal flavours. Guests were invited to help themselves to a generous crudités station, a nod to the laid-back, unfussy elegance of dining in Saint-Tropez, with crisp, colourful vegetables served alongside vibrant dips and accompaniments.

The day was all about bringing people together over incredible food, capturing the spirit of the Riviera while celebrating in the idyllic English countryside. The result was a truly memorable, sun-soaked post-wedding lunch that transported Alice and George’s guests straight to the shores of the Mediterranean – without ever having to leave Somerset.

This was a wedding event that encapsulated everything we love about creating unique, personalized dining experiences – thoughtful, delicious, and full of joy.
